Destination Indicators for DMU Fleet

Iarnród Éireann (IÉ) have a requirement for the supply of a high quality front destination display and control system that can be fitted to the 2600 & 2800 DMU fleet with a minimum of interfacing and modification to the vehicles. The required destination displays will be fitted on the front end of each vehicle in the space currently occupied by the existing obsolete front end display and the proposed system and installation will be required to comply with both EU and National legislation. Each front destination display shall be controlled through an operator control console in each cab. The system will be required to have the capability to set the destination from the leading (active cab) cab and this one action will set the destination on the display at the rear of the train which may be part of a multiple unit consist. The services to be provided will include all design details, physical and schematic drawings, instructions, manuals, materials and equipment necessary to fully integrate the system into the existing vehicle. The preferred system will be required to be simple and instinctive for the operator to use, be reliable in operation and require minimal levels of maintenance support. The system must be supplied with all software, instruction manuals and training to enable IE to maintain the system, undertake fault finding and to be able update the destination database and to add or remove destinations as required.
