Youth Work Theory Training

Tender description

Since forming the Prevention Service in April 2015, staff have been required to pick up and continue to deliver youth work provision in each of the Area Prevention Teams as part of the service Core Offer. This work has been undertaken primarily through Family Outreach Support Workers (with support in some areas from experienced Family Outreach Workers and Community Intervention Workers); along with management support mainly from Children’s Centre Service Leaders and some Area Prevention Managers. This work has been carried out by a significant number of staff coming from an early years’ background. Many having previously had no youth work experience or training. There have been several issues of concern raised over this period of time, with significant anxiety from managers in relation to this deficit of experience and knowledge. Prevention have now established a Youth Work Development Group, and one the priorities is to progress as quickly as possible the securing and implementation of a youth work training programme with 2 versions of training: 1.
