Tender description

The Council has an adopted strategy, the Homes for Older People Strategy (HOPS), which aims to reduce the reliance of residential care through the procurement of extra-care housing. Part of this strategy is the redevelopment of 2 sites in Chalk Farm: Site 1 — Crogsland Road. A vacant site in Council ownership that will be developed for new extra-care housing and a replacement Community Resource Centre. Site 2 — Belmont Street site. The site of the existing Charlie Ratchford Centre (providing day centre services) that will provide the value (through sale and development) to cross-subsidise the construction on Site 1. The selected developer partner will act in a dual role as design and build contractor for the extra-care element and developer for the residential redevelopment element.
