Services will include delivery of general and specialist railway infrastructure inspections and surveys including but not limited to: — Structures/canopies; — Embankment/culvert checks; — Overhead Line Equipment (OLE); — Post incident condition inspections e.g. following adverse weather, incidents etc.; — Security surveys; — Specialist survey (LiDAR/Ortho/digital model generation). Network Rail (NR) wishes to undertake a soft market testing exercise to help determine the best way to deliver a solution for UAS services and operations. Interested parties can request NR's market position statement and questionnaire from Joe.Jordan@networkrail.co.uk This is not a formal procurement process and will not result in a contract between NR and any party. The use of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) offers potential cost and environmental efficiencies in respect of aerial inspection and specialist survey and supports Network Rail's Intelligent Infrastructure and Technical strategies. Network Rail may issue a tender to request prices for the supply of UAS services, Training and Equipment. Network Rail (NR) wishes to undertake a soft market testing exercise to help determine the best way to deliver a solution for UAS services and operations. As part of this process NR is interested in entering into pre-procurement dialogue with market specialists to explore the best current management solutions that will deliver consequential reduction of employee exposure to risk/accidents and injuries by reducing the need for physical access to site and provide value for money for general and specialist surveys for NR. NR wishes this process to provide it with external perspectives, advice and challenges to enable it to better understand and assess relevant market interest and potential supplier capability to work with NR. This will also help NR to determine the most appropriate method for supporting and enhancing delivery of UAS Services to its business.
