Summary of the work Audit of Cisco Enterprise Wireless network including identification of root causes relating to existing performance issues. Required outputs are an audit report and a strategy to improve the service as a whole to enable delivery of a true enterprise quality solution. Latest start date Monday 10 July 2017 Why the Work is Being Done Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Trust utilise a Cisco Enterprise Wireless network to provide access for staff to Trust services, Public Access WiFi and connectivity for third parties occupying space within Trust premises. The performance of this network is insufficient to meet requirements in its current state. This has an impact on the ability of the Trust to provide services in an optimal fashion. The Trust wishes to engage a supplier to audit and investigate the root causes of these issues then produce a strategy to improve the service as a whole and deliver a true enterprise quality solution. Problem to Be Solved Issues with the performance of the Trust wireless network Who Are the Users As an IT Director, I need to understand the root causes of issues with our wireless network and possible courses of action to correct it so I can resolve the problems Early Market Engagement No early market engagement Work Already Done No work has already been done Existing Team The supplier will primarily be working with Senior IT Management, IT Design Team and IT Network Team. Involvement with suppliers is unlikely but may require some co-ordination with a supplier running a project replacing wireless access points or the supplier who supports our Cisco network. Current Phase Not started Skills & Experience • Provide evidence of wireless audits on a scale of the Trust • Demonstrate experience doing wireless audits in the Public Sector • Have access to and experience of site survey software (please name) • Have access to and experience of Spectrum Analysis tools • Have access to and experience of Client Based Wifi performance monitoring tools • Demostrate the ability to provice client based traffic generation of typical data usage within a wireless network • Provide evidence of audit staff with a minimum of Cisco CCNA Wireless qualification • Provide evidence of audit staff with a minimum of CCNP Routing and Switching • Provide evidence of audit staff who are Checkpoint Firewall Qualified • Provide evidence of audit staff who have a minimum of 5 years experience in design and management of a Cisco Enterprise Wireless network • Provide evidence of audit staff with proven experience of Wireless Voice and Real Time Location Services • Provide evidence of audit staff with extensive experience of Cisco Prime Infrastructure Nice to Haves • Provide evidence of wireless audits in the Public Sector • Provide evidence of audit staff who have a minimum of 10 years + experience in design and management of a Cisco Enterprise Wireless network • Provide evidence of staff with Asbestos Awareness Certificate - ukasl.co.uk Work Location The two major sites are in Central London - Waterloo & London Bridge with additional small Community locations in South London. Working Arrangments The team will be required to attend a regular (likely weekly) progress/project meeting in Waterloo. Audit work will need to be done on site at a number of London based locations (please see Additional Terms and Conditions section for links to supporting document). Collation of data or writing of reports can be done at the suppliers offices or Trust offices. Can you expand on what you are looking for us to detail in the response to: Demonstrate the ability to provide client based traffic generation of typical data usage within a wireless network - is there a typical data usage you are looking to meet? The question needs to be read considering the service that the Trust is out to market for. We are looking for an organisation to audit our wireless network and provide recommendations to improve it. What we are looking for bidders to demonstrate here is that they are capable of auditing and reporting on client based traffic generation.
