Tender description

Wirral Council is seeking proposals for two separate lots from suitably qualified and experienced providers for the provision of Floating Support services: LOT1: Homeless Prevention & Resettlement LOT2: Mental Health In Wirral, the Supported Housing Programme funds, monitors, reviews and commissions housing-related support services which are high quality, strategically relevant, cost effective and reliable. The aim of housing-related support services is, through the provision of support, to: — Enable vulnerable people to increase or maintain their independence. — Prevent people from becoming homeless. — Meet the needs of people who have experienced homelessness. — Meet the needs of people who may be threatened with homelessness, in the absence of housing-related support. — Assist individuals to maintain their tenancy and accommodation. — Homeless Prevention To provide support and assistance to households (Single People and Families) already living in independent accommodation, that have been identified as being potentially, or imminently, at risk of homelessness and who will therefore require support to maintain their accommodation, or assistance to secure alternative accommodation in those cases where homelessness cannot be prevented. — Resettlement To provide practical resettlement support to residents of short-term supported accommodation services (Homeless Hostels), that have been identified as ready for move-on, and who have secured independent accommodation. Tenders are invited for the provision of a non-accommodation based (floating) support service to deliver housing-related support to people with mental health problems who are living independently in the community. The essential purpose of the service is to assist people to develop or maintain their independence within the community, thereby preventing the loss of their home or tenancy and/or avoiding the unnecessary use of more institutional forms of care.
