Tender description
The statutory principle of individual wellbeing for adults underpins the Care Act 2014, and is the driving force behind all social care and support. The Act has also enabled local authorities and partners to have a wider focus on the whole population in need of care, rather than just those with eligible needs and/or who are state-funded. The Care Act 2014 informs the criteria and outcomes of this Grant Programme and includes providing a coherent approach to adult social care and consolidating good practice. In providing services, there must be diversity and quality in the market so that there is enough high-quality provision for individual choice. Within the local market, our local voluntary providers are encouraged, through this Grant Funding opportunity to work collaboratively and flexibly in the delivery of provision to meet these priorities and changing needs and to prevent, delay and reduce demand on Health and Social Care services. Prevention Grants The aim of the Prevention Grants is to fund services and activities that provide prevention and early intervention support for adults in the Bolton Borough whose circumstances make them vulnerable and/or disadvantaged. This may include frail older people, people with learning disabilities, people with mental health needs, disabled people and people from minority ethnic communities. Such services and activities may also include elements of information, advice and sign posting relating to accessing other services, events and activities that are open to all. The Prevention Grant allocates funding to organisations to provide services in Bolton for between one and two years. The Prevention Grant will commence 1st November 2017. Carers Grant The Carers Grant will fund services and activities that inform or support carers in the Bolton Borough. The Carers Grant allocates funding to organisations to provide information and support for carers in Bolton for between one and two years. The Carers Grant contributes to the delivery of the priority outcomes for local carers identified in the Bolton’s Carers Strategy 2016-20. The Carers Grant will commence 1st September 2017. Keywords: grant, prevention, care, health, carer, disability
