This will allow completion of location security requirements. Type of Engagement DFID Tanzania is looking to contract a supplier to deliver an Independent Data Verification programme to support a Payment by Results scheme in the Rural Water Sub-sector in Tanzania. An Early Market Engagement Event is planned to inform the market of the upcoming opportunity. This event aims to: — Provide an introduction to the programme and the Draft ToR — Give suppliers an opportunity to ask DFID further questions on the Draft TOR — Enable suppliers to meet other organisations who may be interested in collaborating on this programme Project Purpose The UK has committed up to £150 million over five years (2014- 2019) to improving rural water supply and sanitation. Half of this financing (£79 million) is allocated to a Payment by Result initiative, which aims to incentivize Local Government Authorities (LGAs) to focus on effective maintenance of water infrastructures. This will enhance resilience and long term sustainability of Rural Water Supply. The implementation of the Payment by Results (PbR) scheme commenced in July 2016 and will be implemented until 2022. DFID Tanzania wishes to commission the services of data verification specialists to undertake independent data verification for the scheme from 2018-2022. The purpose of the assignment is to verify data to ensure accuracy and reliability of results reported, which will determine payments to be made to LGAs.
