Summary of the work 1. To abstract relevant information from various source documents and electronic records and translate them into national codes, using ICD-10 and OPCS 4 Manuals, in accordance with national rules and standards, and local policies within agreed timescales. 2. To produce accurate, complete and meaningful coded clinical data. Specialist role Performance analyst Expected Contract Length 12 months Latest start date Monday 31 July 2017 Who Speclialist Work With working within Healthcare Informatics What Specialists Work On • To provide an efficient, reliable and responsive clinical coding service to the Trust in order to provide data on the Trust’s clinical activities, by abstracting information from various clinical documents and translating into diagnostic and procedure codes. • The post holder will be responsible for managing the volume of un-coded activity in assigned specialties against agreed deadlines. • The post holder will be required to participate in coding audits and assist in the provision of high quality information required by the Trust in a timely and accurate manner. Clarification Question; Is this role inside or outside of IR35? Answer; The absolute answer to this can only be given following any assessment required under the IR35 legislation.It is our understanding the IR35 legislation may only apply where the "worker" engaged in delivery is engaged as a Personal Services Company (PSC) and meets other conditions as part of the IR35 assessment. 2. Will this person be working alone or as part of a team? Although part of the wider Health Informatics service, the function will be working alone. 3. Can this role be home based or at least be based at home part time. If so, how many days could it be home based? There are significant IG questions and risks to be assessed and resolved before any home working can be considered. This is not likely to be something that will be considered. 4. Can you give some guidance on the rate for this role? the cap that applies to this role is a day rate of £27.90ph 5. is the individual required to hold any specific qualifications? the coder must hold ACC status 6. What is the lead time for feedback once the application is submitted? we will hopefully feedback on all applications within a few weeks but hope you understand this is entirely dependent upon the number received. 7. Can more than one candidate per supplier be submitted for this role. yes 8. Any chances of change in start date as the latest date mentioned is Monday 31 July 2017 Yes, this date is just a guide and is flexible 9. What are the other expenses which will be paid The Trust will not pay expenses other than reasonable travel and other expenses in the course of the role. Providers must submit fully inclusive rates and costs. Those exceeding the rate cap will not be considered. 10. What is the total number for positions open for this role there is 1 x WTE post 11. Any specific format(pdf,doc) in which CVs to be sent later pdf, word or other freely accessible format is acceptable, as long as these are in English Language 12. Is the rate inclusive or exclusive of VAT? the rate quoted is ex VAT 13. Does this role need any type of security clearance, please confirm. If yes will you sponsor the clearance from your end. Is there any travel involved in this role and will the travel expenses be paid ? we are not aware of any requirement for security clearance. Any travel related to business will be covered by expenses. 14. Would you consider work permit holders (e.g. Tier 2 General Visa) and EU passport holders for this role ? Yes, as long as they pass all appropriate clearance and checks 15. As its mentioned the rate per hour for this role is £27.90, that comes to around 223.2 /per day if the candidate works 8 hours a day. Can you please confirm if the candidate works 9 hours per day, will the candidate be paid for 9 hours or will be paid only for 8 hours. Please confirm. The role is 7.5 hrs per day. There will be no supervision outside of these hours and the employee will be a lone worker. Any requirements to work less days/longer hours must be agreed with the Service Manager
