Tender description

The requirement is for the provision of a call-off contract to enable items of medical equipment to be assessed that they are safe to use on-board military aircraft and that it conforms to airworthiness and safety requirements, Electromagnetic Magnetic Compatibility (EMC) & Environmental Testing, along with an assessment of compliance against the ‘Generic Specification for Special Purpose Aeromedical Equipment’, which will be provided by Leidos. The provider of the service hereafter known as the ‘Commodity Supplier’ will deliver written reports to provide documentary evidence to Air Platform Teams and Release to Service Authority (RTSA's). The requirement for this contract is to provide a series of 5 core tasks as included within the contract documents for each piece of equipment. should it be necessary supplementary tasks may be required with the aim of enabling items of medical equipment to be assessed that they are safe to use on-board military aircraft. The requirement will be on going and requires continuous monitoring and support from the supplier and the contracting authority. The aim of this contract will be to provide Aircraft Project Teams evidence to ensure that the use of the equipment does not interfere with the safe operation of the aircraft and clinicians require evidence that the aircraft will not affect patient safety.
