Tender description
Birmingham City Council is committed to providing a high-quality intensive family support service for disabled children and their families. To provide Intensive Family Support as a city wide specialist service for disabled children and their families referred by Disabled Children's Social Care, where a range of emotional, social and behavioural difficulties, compounded by the stress of caring for 1 or more disabled children is impacting on family functioning. The provider will support to: — Understand, manage and reduce unwanted behaviour; — Improve their emotional well-being; — Access information, advice and guidance about services and activity in the local community; — Protect children from significant harm; — Maintain positive family life. There is an existing service in place so TUPE requirements may apply. Duration of the contract is 2 years commencing 1.10.2017 till 30.9.2019. The service will support disabled children and families to: — Understand, manage and reduce unwanted behaviour; — Improve their emotional well-being; — Access information, advice and guidance about services and activity in the local community; — Protect children from significant harm; — Maintain positive family life. The service will support families to reduce the risk of children being taken into care and, if requested, to support families where there is a plan to return a child to the family home.
