Tender description

The General Medical Council (GMC) and Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (MPTS) currently have a number of technologies available to its staff to communicate with. Whilst all solutions work well and have a degree of integration, users struggle to determine the most appropriate technology to use during their working day due to the number of choices available, but also understand the technologies well enough to take full advantage. There are an increased number of remote workers within the business and as a result the requirement for staff to efficiently communicate with one another is more important than ever. The GMC is seeking expressions of interest from companies with established, tried and tested solutions and expertise to help finalise requirements, validate design principals and implement. These include: - Microsoft Lync 2013 — Using Presence, IM and Virtual Meeting capabilities including desktop sharing and video. All Lync clients use a Skype for Business ‘skin’; - Avaya Communication Manager — 3 tier architecture using Media Gateways. GMC has a contact centre presence and as a result additional services are integrated with this solution. A Call Media solution, NICE Cybertech Recording Solution and Oak Call Logger. GMC and MPTS also use Enghouse Interactive Contact Center Enterprise for Faxback, Solgenia or eFax, CallXpress Voicemail and One-X Communicator; - Polycom video conference solution — VC end points include Group 500 units and also HDX units across all office locations. This solution is used to dial both internally, but also external to the GMC and MPTS; - Logitech Video Conference solution — a light weight VC solution deployed to a small number of internal meeting rooms using a Skype for Business interface; - BT Meet Me — available to a small number of GMC and MPTS users; - Cisco WebEx — available to a small number of GMC and MPTS users.
