Tender description

The Council wish to create a framework that will allow it to purchase activity sessions from the Provider in order to meet the needs of individual Young Carers and which will assist the Council in fulfilling its statutory obligations as defined by the Children and Families Act 2014 sections 17 za to zc which amends the Children Act 1989. A Young Carer may be required to support children and young people under 18 through the provision of regular and on-going care and emotional support to a family member who is physically or mentally ill, disabled or misuses substances. Activity scheme sessions may be required after school, on weekends as Saturday/Sunday clubs or during the Easter and school summer holiday period. Eligibility for access will be identified within a child's individual plan following an assessment carried out by appropriate professionals and agreed by an appropriate Council representative. A Provider Engagement Event will be held on Wednesday 14th June at 15:00 at County Hall, Morpeth, Northumberland NE61 2EF. Please note: If your organisation does not provide details or attend the supplier event this will not disqualify organisations from participating in any future related tendering exercise. Providing details and attendance at the supplier event will not remove the need to respond to and fully comply with any future related Contract Notice. Subject to finalising the scope of the requirement and obtaining approvals to proceed, it is currently intended that the tendering exercise will be conducted under the ‘Open’ procedure, with the relevant Contract Notice expected to be published in July 2017.
