Tender description

Under this contract opportunity, The Ron Dearing University Technical College (UTC), based in Hull City Centre is seeking to appoint a suitably experienced and resourced catering organisation to deliver all student, staff and visitor catering services during term times. Funded by the Education Funding Agency (EFA), the UTC is a 10 000 000 GBP new College for 14-19-year-old students backed by Spencer Group, Siemens, RB, Smith and Nephew, KCOM and the University of Hull, and will initially open to 230 students in September 2017, ultimately providing teaching and learning for up to 600 students within 5 years. The social dining area will be a vital and attractive resource for students, and will be supported by excellent breakfast, AM/PM break and lunchtime services, providing good quality and innovative food and drink at attractive prices to ensure high levels of uptake. A daily free meal allowance of 3 GBP per entitled student (approximately 15 % of students) and a small number of supervisory staff will be funded by the College. The UTC will also incorporate conference centre facilities for up to 250 delegates available for corporate/external letting throughout the year with any catering/hospitality requirements for such events subject to separate and further negotiation with the service provider. Brand new kitchen, servery and dining room facilities/furniture will be provided by the College in addition to a full range of light equipment and a biometric cashless payment system. Plans and equipment specifications for relevant areas will be provided as part of the Invitation to Tender documents. There will be a requirement for the appointed caterer to recruit and employ all staff necessary to provide the services. The contract will be for an intentional period of three (3) years, commencing 1.9.2017 with a break clause option applying (where required by either the College or Caterer) after an initial period of 2 years contract completion.
