Mental Health Social Contact and Stigma Reduction small grants Project

Tender description

The Authority wishes to award a contract for the delivery of a Mental Health Social Contact and Stigma Reduction small grants project (“the Contract”). North Yorkshire Public Health Team is seeking to commission an organisation to deliver a Mental Health Social Contact and Stigma Reduction small grants project (“the Project”). The outcome of the Project is “To reduce stigma, break down barriers and challenge assumptions associated with mental health, by encouraging and facilitating social contact between those with mental health issues and the general public.” The Project will be based on the Time To Change Champions Fund model and will be administered by a single umbrella organisation, who will award and administer small grants of between £100 and £500 to groups of Time to Change Champions (individuals who have experienced mental health issues) to conduct social contact activities, from a fund of £10,000. The Supplier will also be responsible for facilitating training sessions for Time to Change Champions, developing and delivering a robust evaluation plan and writing an evaluation report, and delivering local communication campaigns in line with national messages such as Time to Talk Day, World Mental Health Day, World Suicide Prevention Day and Mental Health Awareness Week. The Project shall be evidence-based and build on national best practice and research, as well as local intelligence via the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment, North Yorkshire’s suicide audit and the North Yorkshire Health and Wellbeing Board’s mental health strategy, Hope Control and Choice.
