Summary of the work The ISS Innovation team needs to: 1. Roll-out the governance and operating model for Innovation in ISS including how ISS will interface with other organisations 2. Manage Innovation projects through the cycle including the commercials, funding and customer engagement 3. Support the recruitment of team members and transfer knowledge Specialist role Programme manager Expected Contract Length 4 Months with options to extend to the 2 year point pending financial approval Latest start date Monday 26 June 2017 Maximum Day Rate The maximum day rate to include any fees will be £950. Who Speclialist Work With You will work with Civilian and Military personnel as well as other contractors. What Specialists Work On Work is required as follows; Continue to establish the Innovation operating model and refine the strategy, operate the ISS Innovation process and associated programme to ensure it delivers value for defence, focusing on internal and external engagement and support the recruitment process and transfer knowledge to recruited civil servants. Skills & Experience • Credible understanding of Innovation across the Ministry of Defence (MoD) and the application of innovation models in defence - 20% • Experience of the ISS Innovation program including specific projects as well and the overall operating model - 20% • Ability to engage teams across defence understanding challenges and convert that into specific innovation programmes that encompasses a vision and roadmap underpinned by a series of challenges - 15% • Knowledge of the internal workings of MoD, JFC and ISS and ideally DSTL and the FLCs - 10% • Experience of building and exploiting networks of contacts and partners to deliver innovative solutions and sharing of knowledge across the defence innovation community - 10% • Experience of providing reach back into their organisations and a wider network to apply technical and business insight to new areas to drive innovation - 10% • Experience in managing complex programmes and projects and managing inter-project dependencies - 10% Nice to Haves An ability to spot opportunities, break down barriers to innovation and challenge constructively - 5% Work Location MoD Corsham, SN13 9NR Working Arrangments 5 days a week (37 hours per week) within a bandwidth of 08:00 - 18:00 (hours to be agreed with individual teams). Individuals will be permitted to leave by 1500hrs on Friday. All resources will be provided access to the organisation's IT system and no utilisation of personal or company laptops will be permitted. Security Clearance SC as a minimum. The SC Clearance must be valid for the duration of the contract. No, we did have the SP assisting until the end of their contract last month. 14. • Would you be prepared to consider candidates that offer a flexible working arrangement; say for example, 3 days per week at Corsham and 2 days per week on task at the supplier's List X offices? No, we require you to be based in Corsham but there will be a lot of travel. 15. Would you consider work permit holders (e.g. Tier 2 General Visa) and EU passport holders for this role ? No, UK Nationals with current & valid SC only. 16. Is there any travel involved in this role and will the travel expenses be paid ? Yes lots of travel will be required (Possible overseas travel required) T&S paid in accordance with MoD Civilian Policy. 17. What technologies will the consultant work on or should have experience with , please give detail All technology systems used throughout eg. Modnet, visio etc. through to new innovative systems 18. Is occasional remote working allowed? We need people to be available at short notice to go places due to nature of the job, remote working would not work for us. 19.
