Summary of the work There is a requirement for a Defence Public Key Infrastructure (DPKI) Root Certification Authority (DRCA) Technical Support Technician. The responsibilities will include technical support for all DRCA environments: the underlying DRCA infrastructure, configuration management and acting as the focal point for all DRCA activities and enquiries. This role is inside IR35. Who Speclialist Work With The specialist will work with the ISS Service Design (PKI team), ISS Operate including Crypto Services for Defence and the DRCA PKI Technical Specialist. What Specialists Work On The specialist will work on the DRCA. Management: focal point for DRCA queries and liaise with stakeholders to ensure availability for all types of activity. Assist the DRCA PKI technical specialist and act as a Trusted Role when required. Infrastructure support: Manage and maintain the underlying DRCA infrastructure for all environments to ensure availability and safety. Manage the VMWare infrastructure and build virtual machines on request. Perform software, firmware and AV updates as necessary. Manage any change to the DRCA environments. Configuration management for DRCA environments. Ensure all assets are identified, licenced, supportable and managed using the Asset Database) Skills & Experience • Demonstration of experience working in a PKI environment. Weighting 16.00%. • Demonstration of experience in handling specialist equipment such as Hardware Security Modules (HSM), encrypted disk drives and key material. Weighting 16.00%. • Show evidence of experience and management of software licencing, vendor support agreements, configuration control and asset management. Weighting 16.00%. • Show a working knowledge of Entrust EASM, VMWare ESXi and SolarWinds Web Help Desk (Asset Management). Weighting 16.00%. Nice to Haves • Demonstration of knowledge and experience in the design and physical implementation of computer networking including Safety and SCIDA. Weighting 12.00%. • Show experience in PKI key signing operations and the operation of Certification Authorities (CA) and Registration Authorities (RA). Weighting 12.00%. • Show knowledge of IETF RFC5280 and RFC3647. Weighting 12.00%. Work Location ISS, MOD Corsham, Westwells Road, SN13 9NR. Building 405 E3, Campus Distribution and Building 410. Working Arrangments All tasking will take place from MoD Corsham and you are required there 5 days a week, the working day is 8 hours to include 30 minutes for lunch. Occasional day visits may be required to Boddington in Gloucestershire or Andover in Hampshire. Overnight visits will only be permitted if permission is sought in advance. The individual will report to ISS Des-Arch34-Arch (Gareth Hind). Security Clearance SC Clearance must be in place prior to the contract starting due to the projects the individual is required to work with. DV is preferred.
