Tender description

The DCDC Strategic Analysis team requires the provision of services to support their efforts to provide analysis that underpins the formulation and development of Defence policy and strategy. The DCDC Strategic Analysis team exists to support policy and strategy formulation across Defence. It was recently formed to improve the capacity within Defence for the provision of high-quality analysis that is focused on Defence's long-term strategic priorities. This Prior Information Notice (PIN) is to advertise a Bidders Conference on 6.7.2017 at the Defence Academy, Shrivenham. The aim of the Bidders Conference is for MoD to engage with potential suppliers from across academia, think-tanks and private sector for the purpose of informing organisations to increase awareness and understanding of the potential requirement. Organisations who do not attend the Conference will not be precluded from expressing an interest in the requirement at a future date. Services required include: a) Original research and analysis. b) The Chief of Defence Staff's Strategy Forum (up to 3 events per year). c) Provision of personnel as required. d) Formal publication of research as required (either within MOD, or externally). e) Ad-hoc tasks as required. Qualities we are looking for in a provider: f) Domestic and international pedigree in the field of Defence and security analysis. g) Assured access to a wide-variety of perspectives, expertise and disciplines. Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), think-tanks and private sector organisations will all be considered to the extent that they meet the requirements described herein. Consortiums will be welcome as an effective way of delivering assured access to a broad and deep array of expertise. This is a unique opportunity to deliver against the MoD requirement for the provision of strategic analysis that directly supports policy and strategy formulation.
