Third Sector Infrastructure Support

Tender description

Wirral Council recognises the important role the third sector provides in identifying local needs, supporting communities and developing new projects and services. The Council therefore seeks to commission an infrastructure organisation to act as the conduit between the third sector and Wirral Council. Providing strong leadership to, and on behalf of, the third sector this organisation will enable the sector to be an equal and effective partner in the Wirral Partnership; contributing to the delivery of the Wirral Plan. The successful provider will support community, voluntary and faith groups to engage in activities that will improve their neighbourhoods, deliver services to meet the needs of Wirral residents and take a more active role in design and delivery of local services. Utilising shared intelligence it will nurture and support asset based community development principles and foster community-led solutions through social action. Additionally it will facilitate the delivery of the Wirral Together Strategy promoting greater participation of local residents and groups to make a difference in their neighbourhoods through social action (volunteering/neighbouring).
