Tender description

The London Borough of Newham is intending to reprocure its Primary Care Opiate Dependency Service. The service must provide: — Practitioners who have completed the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) Part 1 Certificate in Drugs Misuse. — Staff who have completed the GP Opiate Dependency Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) on line training for Hepatitis B and C. — Evidenced based prescribing interventions to overcome dependence and reduce harm. — Access to general primary health care (cost not included in this contract). — Evidence based clinical interventions and recovery focused care that can contribute to the service user's ability to achieve stability, improve health, attain employment and to progress toward sustained abstinence, recovery and integration into the local community. — Work closely with Specialist Community Drug and Alcohol Service (SCDA). The service will be commissioned for a period of 3 years via 5 main practice hubs across all CCG cluster areas. Shared care provision must accommodate around 200 — 225 patients per year.
