Tender description

Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council (BMBC) is inviting expressions of interest from suitably qualified providers to tender for the delivery of Support to Live at Home Services (STLAH). The STLAH Service is for adults aged 18+ and is required to provide high-quality, cost effective, core and enhanced level home based support and personal care (historically referred to as domiciliary or home care). The STLAH service is for all vulnerable adults, including (but not limited to): older people, people with a physical disability and/or sensory impairment (including people with an acquired brain injury), people experiencing mental ill-health, people with a learning disability, people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) conditions and people with end of life care needs; older people will be the larger volume of those who need support. "Support to Live at Home describes the support and care service in a person's own home. We want to work with service users and carers and provider organisations, towards a shared vision where people who access services, experience good care and support resulting in the best possible outcomes. We want to work with providers who give personalised care and support and who actively promote self care, recovery and continue re-ablement journeys. The STLAH service model will be geographic — based on the Barnsley area council structure — with providers selected for each council area. The current expenditure on domiciliary care is in the region of 8 400 000 GBP per annum across Barnsley.
