Economics for Foreign Policy. Economics for Foreign Policy will provide learners with a solid grounding in the economic theory required of a diplomat working in the UK and abroad. Learners should be taught undergraduate level macroeconomics and microeconomics with a focus on international economics, given the foreign policy context. Economics for Foreign Policy should also provide learners with the ability to apply core theory in a real world foreign policy context. Learners will vary on the need to apply their learning on a daily basis or on an ad-hoc basis. The course will be delivered through the FCO Diplomatic Academy at Practitioner Level. The FCO Diplomatic Academy prides itself on delivering content through various methods, to accommodate a diverse and global network of staff. This course will therefore need to be delivered in a mixture of methods, including traditional face-to-face delivery and more modern digital/online delivery. We also welcome ideas of other innovative methods of delivering content.
