Cambridge City Council - Car park Equipment Maintenance

Tender description

In 2012 approval was received to procure and award contract for new car parking equipment in the Grand Arcade car park. A European level tender exercise was completed resulting in APT Skidata installing the new equipment in October 2013. The tender and contract for this included 5 years of maintenance cover with the ability to pull off the contract for the purchase of further equipment within a 5 year period. Value of original contract for the purchase and maintenance of Grand Arcade equipment was £550,785.80. In 2015 committee approval was also agreed for the purchase of new car parking equipment for Grafton East, Grafton West and Queen Anne Terrace multi-storey car parks and to be installed in 2017. The cost of this was anticipated to be up to £570,000. This approval only covered the cost of the purchase of the equipment and not the maintenance cover. APT Skidata who supply our car parking equipment are the only company who can provide the maintenance, original parts and software updates that we require. There is no other company within the market that can provide this service.
