Tender description

The University of Southampton is currently exploring a range of options to help form the overall strategy to support and manage student placements with an IT system (which could include sandwich years in industry, study abroad opportunities, and programmes which include a significant number of placements such as nursing, medicine and PGCE's). Interested parties are invited to complete and return the Questionnaire, deadline for the receipt of completed Questionnaires is 15th February (11:00). Responses received as part of this exercise shall be used to help shape the University's final specification of system requirements and scope any resulting procurement process. Please Note this soft market exercise is intended to allow interested organisations with appropriate experience to outline their views and provide impartial information to the University with no commitment to themselves or the University. This is not a call for competition at this stage. The University's Strategy includes having a reputation for delivering excellence, and an exemplary student experience. In terms of placements, which are a significant part of many students' experiences at Southampton, delivering excellence involves effective and efficient placements management, which is likely to involve procuring a new Placements Management System. The improvements will support the University to: — Improve the student experience; — Improve operational efficiency and effectiveness; — Develop cutting-edge curriculae; — Provide consistent standards and parity of experience across the University; — Provide better monitoring to ensure adherence to regulations, where appropriate; — Improve relationships with placement providers; — Ensure compliance with H&S / legal requirements.
