Tender description

Work Package 2B (WP2B) comprises the supply of a laser cutting system to support the Dragon Reactor Decommissioning Project. WP2B is 1 of several work packages and Employer activities that collectively cover the overall work scope of the Dragon Reactor Decommissioning Project. The Dragon Reactor Decommissioning Project has been set up to remove the reactor and pack the resulting waste generated into packages for disposal. A scheme design has been produced by the Employer and the next stage is to develop the scheme design as separate DD&B work packages to provide the required infrastructure, plant and equipment to decommission the reactor. The scheme design developed by the Employer has identified how a remotely operated Reactor Core Segmentation Machine (RCSM) deploying laser cutting technology will be used to cut the Dragon reactor into manageable sections for removal and further processing.
