Tender description

AS3C2/490 Michelin Tyres PLC for the Supply of New and Remould of Aircraft Tyres. The Air Commodities Team, part of the Ministry of Defence have extended a Contract for 24 months with Michelin Tyres PLC Aircraft Tyres commencing January 2017 for the procurement of New and Remoulded Aircraft Tyres. It is considered that this contract can be placed using the negotiated procedure without prior publication of a contract notice pursuant to Article 32(2)(b)(ii) of Directive 2014/24/EU (Regulation 32(2)(b)(ii) of the UK Public Contracts Regulations 2015) for technical reasons. This is because there is a specific interoperability and safety need which must be fulfilled to ensure the safe functioning of the armed forces which only Michelin Tyres PLC. Thus, to meet the requirement, Air Commodities Team (ACT) must continue to procure and provide support for these tyre and inner-tube part numbers from this company.
