Tender description

Sheffield Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) currently commissions the local acute Foundation Trust to perform ECGs. Additionally there are 2 GP practices in the West locality that are also paid to provide this service to their patients. The strategic direction in Sheffield is to transfer a number of specialties out of the acute setting into the community thus delivering care in a more convenient location for patients. Local clinicians in both primary and secondary care believe it is readily feasible to transfer 12 Lead ECG testing currently taking place in the acute setting to community settings. The proposal is focussed on transferring direct GP referrals currently made to secondary care to a community level service with delivery points within each of the 4 geographical localities in Sheffield. The expectation is that the majority of direct GP referred outpatient ECGs can take place in a community setting.
