Tender description

As part of Gateshead Councils Local Welfare Assistance service, discretionary payments are made when a person is deemed to be in “crisis”. A crisis refers to an urgent or pressing need that is significantly different from the normal day to day financial pressures associated with managing a domestic budget. Gateshead Council's requirement will be the facility to issue vouchers that may be redeemed in respect of a payment. The vouchers that are issued can be used as a direct replacement for cash or they can be issued to a claimant specifically to be offset against gas and/or electricity charges. Vouchers may also be used in other Council service areas where cash payments may not be appropriate. Keywords: Payment Voucher
