Repair and maintenance services of military vehicles

Tender description

Babcock DSG Ltd acting as the agent for the UK Ministry of Defence intends to negotiate a single source contract with Pearson Engineering Ltd for the repair of Front End Equipment for Armoured Fighting Vehicles for a period of 5 years with 2 x 1 years options. It is the intention of Babcock DSG acting as an agent on behalf of the UK Ministry of Defence to place a 5 year Framework Agreement with the possibility of a further 2 x 1 year options for the Repair of AFV front end equipment platforms. It is considered this requirement can be placed using the negotiated procedure without prior publication pursuant to Article 25(1)(a) of Directive 2009/81/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council (Regulation 16(1)(a)(i) of the Defence and Security Public Contracts Regulations 2011 due to the absence of suitable tenders in response to the previous restricted procedure reference 43190-2017. In respect of the previous restricted procedure IRM16/1159, Babcock DSG Ltd on behalf of the UK Ministry of Defence evaluated that only one technically compliant bidder was received, that tender being Pearson Engineering Ltd.
