Tender description

The City of London requires provision of clinical and forensic healthcare services to the custody suites for City of London Police (CoLP). This requirement is a mandatory service within PACE. The service is 24/7 365/6 days per year with the option of an onsite service if the Provider would like to take this opportunity and base their staff with us during working hours. In addition, there is a call out service for out of hour's requirements. This contract works alongside a NHS provided service for Liaison and Diversion (mental health and substance misuse referrals) and other third sector organisations. This procurement is being run under the Light Touch Regime for Social and Other Specific Services. The City of London Police (the Police) covers the square mile of the City of London. The City is a world leader in financial and business services, and has a small residential population of approximately 8 000 although this number is swelled by an influx of 350 000 commuters as well as people travelling through and visitors. It has a thriving night time economy, and is the lead area for economic crime. The City of London Police (the Police) have the overall legal duty of care for detainees in police custody. The Police are looking to appoint a Provider to supply a clinical and forensic healthcare service in police custody.
