Tender description

Provision of annual Pantomime Productions at Motherwell Theatre for seasons 2017-18, 2018-19 and 2019-20. There will be annual options to extend the contract for 2020-21 and 2021-22. Requirement for a single Service Provider to produce the annual pantomime production at Motherwell Theatre for season 2017/18, 18/19 and 19/20. CultureNL require option to extend for up to two (2) years. Service provider will be responsible for all production elements to the performances, including: appointing actors and dancers; script; choreography; director; costumes; and scenery. Modern production techniques should be used, including projection and intelligent lights. Target audience include family and school children. The production should have a traditional ‘variety’ approach, with big opening and grand finale to maintain theatrical traditions and to retain the original experience of live theatre. Emphasis is on clear storytelling, contemporary references, audience participation, Scottish dialects and humour and excellent music. To avoid repeat productions of recent pantomimes, the proposed titles for the first 2 years of this contract are Jack and the Beanstalk, then Aladdin.
