NHSBT requires supply, maintenance and consumables for Sterile Connection Devices (SCD) and is seeking expressions of interest from suppliers who will be able to offer a solution for the following: The devices must be suitable for blood component processing e.g. connection of additional packs and filters to primary blood collection systems and packs, connection of buffy coats etc; produce blood components that satisfy current/future guidelines; connect tubing from all blood pack systems supplied to the Authority. The maintenance must be suitable for existing Terumo Sterile Connecting Devices (TSCD) I & II. The consumables must perform sterile welds between plastic PVC tubing for processing of blood and components and must be compatible with TSCD's I & II. Note: this may be run as a collaborative exercise with other blood services.
