Halton Borough Council has recently taken back the operation of the Council’s three Leisure Centres: • Brookvale Recreation Centre • Kingsway Leisure Centre • Runcorn Swimming Pool The decision to resume management of the leisure centres was taken by the Council’s Executive Board, in September 2015. After considering a review of management options this gave clear evidence that this move would achieve significant efficiency savings while maintaining a good quality service. Investment has been put into the fitness suites and this new investment was achieved within existing resources and reflects the commitment to invest in improving health for a wide range of age groups. “Active Halton” is a Halton Borough Council initiative to bring together its wide ranging sport & physical activity offers. An Active Halton steering group has been established. The aim of this group will be to look for ways of increasing physical activity levels of children and adults across the borough. The group will widen its membership over time to provide an operational arm.
