Tender description

The purpose of this tender is to award a suitable supplier to provide a small rail mover and maintenance. Strathclyde Partnership for Transport is looking to procure for a Small Rail Car Moving Equipment. This equipment is required to shunt the rail cars. Specifically this equipment will be required when the wheel lathe is installed as the rail cars will be shunted onto and off the wheel lathe. A small and manoeuvrable, manually driven, electric powered road/rail rail car mover capable of moving up to a 65tonne, 4 car train set a distance of up to 100m on a maximum adverse gradient of 1 in 500 (including allowances for change/future proofing as a result of new rolling stock).
