The States of Jersey HM Prison La Moye is Jersey’s only prison and is situated within the boundaries of the Vingtaine de la Moye. It is operated by the Jersey Prison Service and is part of Community and Constitutional Affairs; formerly the Department of Home Affairs. HM Prison, La Moye has a fully equipped healthcare unit. All the equipment is owned by the States of Jersey and all stock and stock levels are maintained by the HM Prison medical staff. All equipment and ancillaries are provided for the service provider. The purpose of this General Practitioner Service provision is to provide a high quality, primary care service within a secure setting. The service will be evidence based and accountable, and enable the Provider to exercise professional judgement in working with patients to agree outcomes that will promote better health and prevent ill health. The service will ensure that life threatening and distressing General Practitioner Services conditions are effectively managed and that prisoners are supported in improving their health.
