Tender description

The scope of the contract is for the design, supply of materials, manufacture, assembly, test and delivery of 4 separate mirror systems designated M1, M2, M3 and M4. The mirrors will operate together to direct and focus 2 separate beams (a diffraction beam and an imaging beam) in the K11 DIAD beamline. Each system will comprise mirror optics contained within UHV vessel with each optic mounted on a mechanism that allows it to be precisely positioned. The mirror mechanical systems will be procured under a contract subject to the performance specification as detailed in the tender documents. Mirror systems M1, M2, M3 and M4 each comprising: 1. Manual and motorized adjustment systems. 2. Vacuum vessels with ports, flanges and feed-throughs to house the mirror optics. 3. Support structures. 4. Motors, encoders and limit-switches — All wired to DLS-standard connectors as detailed in the Annex documentation. 5. Suitable cooling systems to maintain stability when optics are subject to heat input from incident beam. 6. Sufficient spare parts with long delivery times to guarantee operation of the system with minimum down-time for a period of at least 2 years from the date of final acceptance.
