Tender description

The Children and Young People's Leadership Group (CYPLG) want to ensure that the best possible services for all children, young people, their families and their carers within the Scottish Borders are provided and that these lead to improved outcomes. The Children and Young People's Commissioning Strategy 2017-2022 identified a number of priority areas for commissioned services including: — Positive emotional and mental health and well-being of children and young people. — Availability, access and support for young carers. — Supporting choices — equality and inclusions, positive life choices. An extensive review has been undertaken and the CYPLG are keen to develop a service which is able to support young people experiencing a range of challenges to develop resilience and positive emotional well-being through a service which is flexible, integrated and cohesive and which provides equity of access for young people across the Scottish Borders aged 12 to 18 years. The CYPLG are keen to explore support options for a range of groups; Young Carers, substance misuse, LGBT and equalities. We are now keen to commission this service and to engage with potential service providers in discussions about how this service specification can be turned into a reality. It is an exciting opportunity to bring an innovative approach to the Borders, 1 which would provide time limited 1 to 1 and group support with a range of evidence based interventions for service users. The service would also provide consultation, support and capacity building to front-line staff to ensure that universal services are upskilled to be better able to support low level needs. A service specification has been developed which reflects the views of universal staff and young people.
