Contract for the supply of equipment and furniture to Discretionary Welfare Assistance Scheme The Discretionary Welfare Assistance Scheme provides support to vulnerable residents who require help to establish or maintain a home independently in the community by providing goods in kind. The Council provides furniture, new (or refurbished) and new electrical items to assist people who meet a qualifying criteria. The Council, is seeking to select a supplier who, on a call off basis, can deliver and, where appropriate, install a range of furniture and white goods in resident's homes within the borough of St Helens. Typical orders will consist of one or more of the following items: • bed and bedding; • the supply and installation of electric items (White Goods): o fridge or fridge freezer; o washing machine; o electric cooker (occasionally gas). Contract for the supply of equipment and furniture to Discretionary Welfare Assistance Scheme is for the duration of 12 months. There will be an option to extend for a further two one year periods (1+1)
