Tender description

1.1 BEIS are developing a pathway calculator to assess the ways in which the government can support the decarbonisation of heat and bioenergy is expected to play a key part. We wish to critically assess and update our assumptions around bioenergy chains and identify those we deem most important for the future of heating to 2050, what the key barriers are and what may be put in place to overcome them. From this we require a high level modelling tool to assess the costs and benefits of these key bioenergy chains which will feed into the pathway calculator. Policy colleagues will use the modelling tool to understand the implications of different scenarios around key bioenergy pathways and their role in a decarbonised heating system.
