Tender description

Leicester City Council (on behalf of Leicester City Council, Leicestershire County Council, Leicester City Clinical Commissioning Group, East Leicestershire and Rutland CCG and West Leicestershire CCG) invites Tenders for the provision of a Dementia Support Service to assist people living with dementia and their informal carers. The service will be provided in community settings in Leicester City and Leicestershire and within University Hospitals Leicester and will be responsive to local population needs and requirements. The aim of the service is to provide seamless support to people affected by dementia in the community and during a hospital admission, supporting the transfer of care during the service users hospital admission and back into the community. The key priority areas for service delivery for people affected by dementia are: • Support for people affected by dementia pre and post diagnosis • Support for people with memory issues • Supporting people to understand the illness and learn about self-management •Planning for the future including decision making and meeting support needs • Support to maintain and develop social networks •Facilitation of peer support In addition to above arrangement Leicester City Council and Leicester City CCG are seeking to procure an Advocacy Service under the same contract to operate specifically within Leicester. The proposed contract will be initially for a period of 2 years to commence on 2nd October 2017 with an option to extend (subject to satisfactory performance outcomes and agreement by the partners) for a further period or periods up to 36 months, taking the contract term to a maximum of 60 months. The procurement for this service is undertaken in accordance with Directive 2014/24/EU Article 74 Type of services – Health and Social Services. Dementia Support Services falls under the ‘light touch’ regime of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. The Authority will hold a Tender Information Session. Any potential Supplier is invited to attend this session to ask questions about the proposed Contract and associated procurement process. Venue: Leicester Adult Education College, 54 Belvoir Street, LE1 6QL, on Thursday 11th May 2017 at 2:00pm – 4:00 pm.
