Tender description

The aim of this research call is to develop a country specific calculation tool and guidance document for assessing “embodied” and “operational carbon” for national light rail and road infrastructure projects. This will involve assessing carbon contributions for the following phases: • Planning • Construction • Operation • Maintenance • Disposal (of infrastructural elements) The planning phase will include the proposed route corridor options and preferred route. The need for this tool is driven by some of the climate change requirements incorporated into the 2014 EIA Directive (2014/52/EU) which is scheduled to be transposed in Ireland by May 2017.
