Oxfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group are seeking expressions of interest for an upcoming procurement for Semen analysis services across the Oxfordshire region. As a key component of the care pathway for couples who appear to be unable to start a family, the semen analysis service currently analyses semen samples of the male partner prior to referring the female partner for gynaecological assessment. A high quality semen analysis service is essential to: • Diagnose male infertility or subfertility. • Ensure unnecessary or inappropriate treatment is not provided to the female partner. • Plan an appropriate care pathway for the couple who are trying to conceive. Service Outcomes • To provide semen analysis service to test fresh samples for male fertility in accordance with national quality standards. • To provide a semen analysis service for a small number of complex post vasectomy patients treated within secondary care • To provide a confidential and timely service to patients, taking account of the NHS Constitution's stipulation for dignity and respect, providing appropriate information and access to the service. • To report test results to GPs/managing clinicians in a timely and appropriate manner and in accordance with NHS Information Governance standards and legislation. Location The service is provided for patients registered with an Oxfordshire GP in the following Localities: • North Oxfordshire • North East Oxfordshire • West Oxfordshire • Oxford City • South West Oxfordshire • South East Oxfordshire Contract Value & Term The contract is an estimated £45k per annum, with a total 3 year contractual value of £135k with an optional extension of 1 year.
