Joint tender exercise for UK Ministry of Justice (MoJ) and Scottish Prison Service (SPS). Each Authority shall be awarding their own contracts. Both Authorities are seeking supply of mattresses and pillows for their prison estates, with the products conforming to the following fire standards: Mattresses — Crib 7 (BS7177) and HMPPS FTS Test. Pillows — Crib 5/7 (BS7175). MoJ are also seeking to award a contract for the recycling of used products, whilst SPS are seeking bids of this element for information purposes only. Supply of Mattresses: Ministry of Justice — To all Her Majesty's Prisons across England and Wales. Scottish Prison Service — To all Scottish Prisons. The mattresses are required to conform to extremely high fire retardancy levels, this being Crib 7 (BS7177) and also HMPPS FTS ‘igloo test’. The products must be made from a recyclable material, containing no metal and sealed in a non-removable wipe clean cover. Supply of Pillows: Ministry of Justice — To all Her Majesty's Prisons across England and Wales. Scottish Prison Service — To all Scottish Prisons. The pillows are required to conform to extremely high fire retardancy levels, this being Crib 5/7 (BS7175). The products must be made from a recyclable material, containing no metal and sealed in a non-removable wipe clean cover. Requirement for recycling/re-use/re-purpose of used mattresses and pillows. Contract will be for non-clinical waste, however information regarding disposal of clinical waste shall also be explored. Scottish Prison Service will be requesting bids for information purposes only within this Lot.
