Support Service for Families with Children under 5 with Addition Needs 2017

Tender description

1.1. The Council requires the provision of a support for families with children aged between new born and 5 years of age who have a Learning Disability and/or a Special Educational Needs and/or a Disability. 1.2. The Service will provide opportunities for targeted Play Sessions and an opportunity for peer to peer support for Carers including a weekly short break opportunity for Carers and their Children. 1.3. The Service Provider will ideally be a voluntary sector organisation based within the communities of North Somerset with Carer led governance. 1.4. The Service Provider will be located both in the north and the south of North Somerset. The location for the south of North Somerset will be the large town of Weston super Mare. 1.5. The Service Provider will use local volunteers and will have a proven track record of delivering a similar service for a number of years. 1.6. The Service Provider will offer individual support to families with Children with Learning Disabilities and/or Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities including Early Help and Lead Professional roles.
