Tender description

Cleaning contract for a eleven buildings at a secondary school with 1 200 pupils Priestlands School is an Academy school situated in North Street, Pennington, Lymington, SO41 8FZ. The site consists of a number of teaching blocks, ranging in age over a fairly compact site and has approximately 1 200 pupils aged 11 — 16 in Years 7 — 11 who will be studying a full range of subjects. The school day commences at 8:45 and finishes at 15:15 with the addition of after school clubs The school requires a cleaning service that reflects the positive attitude of the teaching environment and is flexible when dealing with the changing demands in secondary education in a busy secondary school. The current cleaning contract ends on 6.10.2017 and this contract will be for a period of 3 years with the option to extend for a further 2 years. Staff will be subject to TUPE legislation (Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) and comprise a mixture of Hampshire County Council Staff who were the subject of TUPE in 2014 and also staff appointed by the current contractor who will be subject to TUPE as part of this contract. Those staff who were Hampshire County Council staff retain their employment rights under this employment including those staff who are currently in the Local Government Pension Scheme and any cleaning contractor tendering for this contract will need to liaise with Hampshire LGPS to ensure they are set up as an admitted body within the scheme. The cost of this process will be borne by the contractor. The contract company will need to demonstrate how they will manage staff who are under different contracts of employment.
