Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council (The Contracting Authority) is inviting tenders from suitably qualified and experienced service providers for the provision of Occupational Health and Associated Services. The Council's aim is provide a comprehensive and flexible service to promote good health and well-being of staff, ensure compliance with relevant legislative requirements and minimise the effects and risks of ill health in the workplace. Service requirements comprise: Triaging of referrals received • Sickness Absence Assessments • Functional Assessment/Fitness Checks • Ill Health Retirement (Independent Register Medical Practitioner) • Health Surveillance/Monitoring/Health Checks • Workstation Assessments • Workplace Assessments • Vocational Rehabilitation • Vaccinations/Immunisations/Inoculations (requirements outside Lot 4) • Specialist Physicians – e.g. Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS) Tier 3 and 4, Driver Medicals, Drug and Alcohol Testing etc. • Guidance and Education • Policy and Strategy Advice • Support with Corporate Health initiatives and events • Case Conferences • Effective Engagement with the OD service and Services Managers • Referral to Councils Employee Assistance Programme and other appropriate support agencies • Obtaining relevant GP, Consultant and other relevant medical reports Service delivery models include both on-site clinics and face-2-face on-site nurse and doctor consultations; face-2-face off-site nurse and doctor consultations, telephone consultations for absent staff and some home visits. Service access for those with disabilities (such as the hard of hearing) will be required.
