Marine Fisheries Management Chart

Tender description

In support of BIM’s action to carry out national policy with regard to seafood development, BIM produces an annual “Fisheries Management Chart” which summarises Irish, European and International Fisheries Legislation for the benefit of the fishing industry and related stakeholders. The Fisheries Legislation referred to above and henceforth relates to Irish, European and International Law controlling the operations of licenced European (commercial) fishing vessels with particular reference to those registered in Ireland. The information presented in the chart includes: • Irish quotas for demersal, pelagic and deep-water stocks • Detailed charts of Irish, European and International regulatory areas, management regions, fishing rights and effort zones • Detailed charts of temporal and spatial restrictions on fishing • Detailed information on the Landing Obligation and de Minimis exemptions by gear, species and area • Mesh size and catch composition dependent technical conservation measures • Minimum Conservation Reference Sizes and conversion factors A detailed specification of requirements can be found in Section 2 of the tender document.
