16327 Refurbishment of science Laboratories at Derby High School, Bury

Bury Council is to appoint a suitable contractor to carry out refurbishment works to Derby High School, Radcliffe Road, Bury, BL9 0EJ. The works involve the clearance of all components back to paint & screed in three laboratories (C5, C6 & C9) & restorative works in the store between C5 & C6. The laboratories are being refurbished with new stud partitions to alcoves in C5 & C6 & beneath the glazed frame in C9. New vinyl sheet floor finish with a services duct cut into the screed applies to all three laboratories, plaster skim to new wall sections, a timber dais for teachers in all three rooms & new laboratory furniture with new services provision & IT for desks in all rooms. New fire doors & a store door are being installed to FD30S standard. Complementing mechanical & electrical services & components are being renewed including sinks & radiators. The contractor shall programme the works to work those hours necessary to complete the works for the 25.8.17. This may involve working 7 days a week from 8.00am to 10.00pm where necessary. Note that the first three weeks of the contract will be in term time and access to the site (Mon – Fri) will only be allowed before 9.00am and after 4.00pm (although from 4pm - 10pm will be available).
