THIS AN AWARD NOTICE ONLY AND RELATES TO WSCC FRAMEWORK AGREEMENT FOR THE PROVISION OF LIBRARY BOOKS AND AUDIO VISUAL MATERIAL AS PART OF THE CENTRAL BUYING CONSORTIUM (CBC) FRAMEWORKS Surrey County Council's Library Service requires access to suppliers for new stock of books and other products in order to achieve the aim of making libraries a high priority leisure activity and a lifestyle choice for the people of Surrey. This requirement forms part of SCC Cultural Services mission to provide easy and equal access to high quality, inspirational and enjoyable cultural facilities for all people living in or visiting Surrey. The library service in Surrey consists of 52 static libraries, the 'award winning' Surrey Performing Arts Library & the Surrey History Centre. These libraries need a regular supply of suitable new stock including books & DVD films for both adults and children. This stock is promoted and needs to be kept refreshed in order to attract more borrowers into the libraries. The 1964 Public Libraries and Museums Act requires library authorities to "provide a comprehensive and efficient library service".
