Tender description

This notice is for prior information only to invite interested parties to contribute to market consultation activities. The Warwickshire Waste Partnership is looking to explore opportunities to work with the supply base and/or other public bodies on the management of collected recyclate. Currently each waste collection authority within the partnership collects recyclate via different arrangements, and similarly that recyclate is managed through different agreements and contracts with the private sector. The Partnership wishes to engage with the market to assist with the development of potential solutions in relation to increasing and processing of recyclate, identifying particular risks that need to be considered, identifying interested parties and their specific areas of experience and expertise, seeking industry views on how to deal with recyclate in the region of 50-90 tonnes per year and understand what solutions might be possible and attractive to the market. The purpose of the consultation activity is to understand the potential solutions the private sector can offer, their requirements and to assess the viability of identified proposals. At this stage the Warwickshire Waste Partnership would prefer a service contract, although would be willing to discuss other solutions that would benefit the partnership. The transfer of waste out of Warwickshire would be considered, but local tipping points are required to ensure the solutions are sustainable. To ensure a long term and sustainable provision for processing waste, the Partnership is open to discussing any length of contract or partnership. The Partnership would like to investigate how to include flexibility within the contact to help manage the risks.
